I wonder what it was like years ago when families and friends wanted to communicate with each other? Do you think it was really like they say - folks wrote letter, stuffed an envelope, licked it and sent it off in the mail! Instant access, instant satisfaction (sometimes dis-satisfaction), and many forms of communication available to us. Just today I was driving and wondered how a friends wife was doing and thought to myself, "why wonder, just text him". So I did and within minutes I was texted back and I had my answer. Just years ago to get the same information it would've taken $0.25 at a pay phone, probably "page" him and wait for a call back. I remember those days because it was not so long ago.

Today my mom accidentally left her phone at a grocery store. I received a phone call from a lady asking if I new the person who owned the phone from which she was calling. Being my mother's phone I made arrangements to pick it up. The entire time I wanted to call my mom and let her know I was getting the phone and not to worry. There was one problem...she only has the cell phone as her telephone options. I then began to think about my days with no phone, moving to having a pager to the phones of today. Anyway...
Preparing for Easter this week Lise has done a great job of teaching the boys about the past week of Jesus; at least what we know from the scriptures. I can see much similarity from the fireplace mantle of our home and the mantle of my in-laws. Lise posts pictures reflecting the daily lesson on Jesus' life. It is a blessing to have Lise bring the importance of Easter into our home and I know our boys will be better for it.
Today we died eggs in our yearly tradition. Lise feels that this year I had more fun dying the eggs then the boys did...maybe I did. It was a joy to write the boys name with crayon on the eggs and watch the food coloring and vinegar do the rest.
Below are picture from Easter of 2005 and 2006 - the boys are growing (as they should I guess):
My brother and his wife (mostly his wife) welcomed a new child into their family. Jacob (Jake) Ryan Powell is the newest addition to the Powell family. By looking at the picture, can you guess who Jake is?
I wish you all a wonderful and blessed Easter!
