The above picture is a continuation of what I mentioned last post. This is what I walked up to after my wife called me at work to let me know that we'd been violated. I know, it is a strong word, but just look at the poor, helpless van...broken, bruised and embarrassed.
Working with the insurance company, who will remain nameless (your in good hands), was not as easy as I thought it would be. Over six days to have someone look at it and a small wrestling to use factory glass. At this point the glass is replaced, the interior handles replaced, but we still have paint and leather damage. At this point I am willing to forgo the painting and just have it detailed and the leather repaired. Sad how one person's actions can lead to so much work and time.
The boys were able to go to the zoo with their mother and aunt (Jennifer). If I recall correctly, it was Jennifer who wanted to go? Is that right dear? (Lise has just told me yes). Thanks Jen(n) for the offer as the boys sure love you. I was just told two things, two "n"'s in Jenn (or she'll be mad) and that Jen(n) paid for the trip. $Wow!$ Jennifer are you still planning on moving to Factoria?

Other things that have been started are small projects around the home that I say are "started" but should say they are being "re" started. I have another door or two painted and hung. I must say that the door does not seem to fit the same after being reinstalled. What does that say about me? Nothing that sandpaper and a screw driver can't fix. The family has also been helping me remove the stain from the deck. We are having over 20 folks over for dinner tomorrow and I wanted to have the deck completed, but they will have to do with a clean sanded deck and be reinvited over when the staining is complete. The original stain did not last all that long and I think it is because I failed to put down a wood conditioner first. I will see how it does this time with the conditioner. I am told by deck experts this will help. Time will tell.
So you may be wondering why the title of my blog is "Check your brakes!". The picture below will tell you why. About two, maybe three, weeks ago I go a call from a Toyota guest that stated he was having his Matrix towed in to us because he was having a braking problem after we'd replaced his front brakes. We'll, what you are looking at is the back side of a caliper with two missing bolts! We are blessed, so is the tech and the driver, that there was not accident as the caliper had fallen off the rotor. Scary, but real!

*Note: this is the first time I have "blogged" with my wife in the room...it is more difficult as she prevents me from saying too much. :) Already have her bugged with the pregnancy stuff. She is requesting that I delete it, but I think it is a hoot. Keeps the marriage fresh and real.

I love your posts Bro. It's the honesty that keeps it real!! Maybe Lise just doesn't like to admit that her life really is a comedy! It's what happens when you marry a Powell!!! ;)
I still feel responsible for the van window episode. I'm glad to finally see a picuture. What's up with the pregnancy gag? Don't you know what that does to Grandma?(LOL)
Love, Grandma

I'll admit, I found the link from Janyse and HAD to read your blog... I feel kind of stalker-ish right now, but I had to tell you that you crack me up! You're one funny family... I love it!
